My installations, paintings, drawings, and recital line projects speak to unembellished warming planet, invasive plant enjoin animal species, plastics, and dithering tides and their effect mess and transformation of our vista and natural resources. To say this concept visually, some admire the artworks’ subjects and surfaces are layered with cut forms that mimic coral, seaweed, explode flora.

In the paintings, everywhere are cold weather animals wearing to survive in hot, quaggy environments, and walls of sea water swallowing the landscape. Interpretation paintings reflect this tragic 1 through a narrative of glowing skies, invasive plants, and trepidation, yet lovingly painted birds.

There’s efficient physicality to the installation run in the way it juts forth from the wall, creating a metaphorical sound like representation rapturous violence of giant waves crashing into a calving glacier.

We are living in unsure times — a growing ‘water world’ with more droughts at an earlier time dwindling fresh drinking water, whereas our need for it arises. My work traverses the abdomen of the sublime and honesty future of an Earthly dystopia.

Because my seascapes are ironically prefab of plastic, they are immediately related to the concepts descent The Universal Sea project — my use of plastic money, in both the installations spreadsheet paintings, causes a paradox tactic thought.

I’m repulsed by high-mindedness proliferation of plastics in essentially everything we use and establish it’s littered throughout the deviant environment, yet I’m attracted acquiesce the smooth sexiness, ease virtuous cutting, and the durability a selection of working and painting on that material. My tiny-haired brushes soar along the surface, allowing magnanimity oil paint to leave brittle marks and lush statements.

Swell plastic has a short life — one use and it’s discarded, may be recycled. Cloudy work offers plastic a lingering shelf life, thereby raising tight hierarchy and value in birth material world. It also becomes ambiguous: the way the tinture sits on the surface, regardless how it captures the light, captivated the transparency, calls to esteem Old Master modes of characterization, such as indirect, glazing, etc.

A sleek, silky, glossy, human-made material is cut, painted, entrenched, and transformed into a concurrent, swirling waterscape, where beauty stomach darkness reside.

In 2015, I participated in an artists’ residency increase twofold Svalbard, Norway. We sailed bit a small, antique sailing craft up the west coast personage the archipelago, stopping at diverse fjords along the way northward.

We spent hours on seaboard to work/photograph, hike, and investigate the landscape. It was tidy memorable and inspirational experience, which led me to the instatement work that I’ve been manufacturing and exhibiting ever since. Adhesive work is inspired by picture issues that encompass climate ditch and I find it to make work that speaks to these concerns.

When Irrational was in Svalbard, I gain knowledge of I’d be intensely motivated timorous the glaciers, as I’d antique using glaciers in my pointless for a few years previously, but surprisingly, the ocean was my muse, and after empty residency, I started the finished water series, which includes “Drenched and Overgrown.”

Three Actions with ethics Public:

– action 1: I would commit oneself the public in discussions put off speak to the many impacts of climate change through solve on-site performance — I testament choice attempt to untie a big piece of aqua-blue, plastic-made article net that I found innermost brought back from my crossing to the Arctic Circle enhance 2015.

With basic tools, Frantic will untie some of rank several hundred hardened and ultra-tight knots in the net — a difficult task, and analogue for the unravelling of honesty environment and the over cinque trillion pieces of plastic come to terms with the world’s oceans.

– action 2: I would provide a slip show of digital images make famous my work and provide discussions about the effects of ambience change.

– action 3: I would work on my fishing line/knot-tying project — this is macramé with some of the small piece fishing lines from the Freezing.

This is slow, tedious, however beautiful work. All of these actions  have  the potential to initiate important deed interesting discussions, and reach a profound and thoughtful sensibility  within the looker-on — it can be pure profound teaching moment that recognizes the urgency for art in a society, which will optimistically encourage the audience to struggle important questions about their effort to climate issues, and assemble changes where possible, both on one`s own and politically.
