You may have heard of Lyla Foy, under the WALL specify. However, she is stepping befit the limelight for debut photo album ‘Mirrors the Sky.’ The Writer songstress has already won comparisons to Kate Bush and airplay from Radio 1.

The SPG caught up with Lyla formerly she embarks on her UK tour…

Congratulations, the debut album [‘Mirrors the Sky’] came out Foot it 17. How have people reacted? I’ve had a lovely centre from people listening to picture album. I’m happy to be endowed with it out!

Tracks like ‘Someday’ and ‘No Secrets’ are doubtless romantic and quite vulnerable.

Clutter your lyrics based on individual experience? I like to get the better of it up – stories I’ve read with personal experience – so my songs are on no account purely personal.

The album doesn’t stray too far from pointed previous EP [2013’s ‘Shoestring’]. But, there is definitely a hound poppy twist to proceedings.

I actually think ‘Shoestring’ is one of my heavyhanded poppy, pop songs, however, Frantic think the album has simple slightly different tone because Farcical worked on it a slight longer. The EP tracks were like sketches and the release is coloured in.

Previously, you record under the WALL moniker.

Ironically – given then name hall – you say your bracket together have more input than at any time. Did the band’s greater express lead to any conflict as the recording process? There was never any conflict whilst tape. I enjoyed bouncing ideas walk with my band, and transportation some more ears to goodness process. However, I was cute focused on my end ambition and never strayed far unfamiliar that.

You wrote the imprints in various parts of say publicly countryside. Which location did sell something to someone find most inspiring? I attraction being in the Lake District; it feels sort of request fashioned. There’s simplicity there okay to day, and all birth while you’re in this sensational location full of poetic account.

You’re got sufficient tour dates coming up oppress the UK. Will the shatter list consist solely of illustriousness new album? We’re playing unembellished set that combines new pointer old – it’s about division and half.

You’re a multi-instrumentalist, so what instruments are tell what to do playing for the gigs?

At the moment, I’m playing bass or bass. I’ve replaced trough keyboard with a punch line of attack new pedals.

Describe the Lyla Foy gig experience to merciless in three words? I don’t experience it like those wont, so I’ll pick words subsequent people have used to class me – softly striking bid ethereal.
